School leaders and members of the community are partnering to ensure all students on one Sherman campus have a merry Christmas. Volunteers at Sherman Independent School District's Jefferson Learning Center came together Friday for the school's blessing bag distribution.

The following letters to Santa were mailed from the Sherman Santa's Letters mailbox at the Grayson County Courthouse. Letters can still be mailed from the mailbox at 100 W. Houston Street in Sherman.

State Representative for District 62 Reggie Smith will wrap up his time in Austin in mid-January. Smith was first elected to the post 2018 and lost the most recent Republican primary to Shelley Luther.

Volunteers with the Salvation Army worked to ensure that nearly 1,000 children have a merry Christmas through the group's Angel Tree gift distribution Thursday. The Grayson County chapter distributed gifts of food, clothing and toys that were collected throughout the community this fall for those in most need.
