One of the most common refrains from business owners in Texoma’s tight labor market is that they can’t find employees, especially those with the skills they need for specialized jobs.

On Oct. 1, GateHouse Media, the parent of the Herald Democrat, is launching a partnership with Santa Monica, California-based ZipRecruiter for its 125 daily newspapers, more than 300 weeklies and 555 local market websites. The deal makes ZipRecruiter the exclusive advertising partner for GateHouse, reaching more than 21 million readers each week. The California company will power GateHouse recruitment pages, both online and in print.

“Local businesses in GateHouse Media markets will now be able to leverage the power of ZipRecruiter’s best-in-class candidate matching algorithm, which delivers quality candidates to 80 percent of job ads posted to ZipRecruiter within the first 24 hours, and industry-leading email job alert program, all while maintaining their relationship with their local GateHouse newspaper and account manager,” the companies said in a statement.

Nate Rodriguez, senior group publisher of Texoma Marketing Media Group, which publishes the Herald Democrat, Van Alstyne Leader, Anna-Melissa Tribune and Prosper Press, said the partnership will mean great things for all TMMG’s customers.

Jobs posted through GateHouse Media will also be available to search and apply to in ZipRecruiter’s award-winning mobile job search apps. It is a unique, first-of-its-kind national partnership for GateHouse that will bring a consistent recruitment platform to all their digital and print properties, the companies said.
