Jimmie Lynn Burleson

Jimmie Lynn Burleson, 82, of Sadler, Texas was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Jimmie was born on August 18, 1940 in Roby, Texas to Melton and Mary Ethel (Davis) Burleson. He received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from North Texas in Chemistry and a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from the University of Utah while in the Air Force. Jimmie joined the Air Force in 1964, while there he was stationed at Shepherd Air Force base with the weather department and Lajes, Azores Islands. He was honorably discharged in 1969 with the rank of Captain. Jimmie married Letty Deanna McCoy on May 3, 1963 in Collinsville, Texas. They traveled with Jimmie’s job where he worked for the National Weather service in Tulsa, Ok., Topeka, KS and Lakeland, Florida. Jimmie retired from Central Garden Pet Research Lab in Dallas, TX. He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Gordonville, Texas and was ordained at Mt. Gilead in Keller, Texas. Jimmie enjoyed fly fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Deanna Burleson of Sadler; brother, Don Burleson of Abilene; nephews, Boyd and Marty Burleson and Brady Mayfield, nieces, Kristin Holden and husband, Jason, Paige Mazur and husband, Kyle, Erica Longbine and husband, Stefan, Sonje Jones, Nerissa Jay, and Karla Burleson; sister-in-law, Linda Mace and husband, Wayne, and brother-in-law, Rick McCoy and wife,
