Pradera Mobile Home Community recently celebrated its grand opening with the help of the Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce and the Howe Chamber of Commerce, as well as residents and community members.

The grand opening event at its property at 709 North Collins Freeway in Howe marked the completion of the final phase of major improvements to the community made by Havenpark Capital, Pradera MHC’s management company that is focused on securing and improving manufactured home communities.

“We are so happy at the positive response we have received from community members, as our mission is to provide safe and affordable housing options,” Felix Tormos, community manager at Pradera MHC, said in a press release. “We want to create an environment that fosters community, connection, and respect among our residents. We thank everyone that joined us for celebrating this milestone as we enter the next stages of community improvements at Pradera MHC.”

Havenpark Capital took over management of Pradera MHC with the goal of investing in the property’s infrastructure to enhance the lives of their residents. Over the last two years, there have been significant investments for improvements like fixing and laying sidewalks, trimming and planting trees, adding additional landscaping, full renovation of the clubhouse, and the installation of sports courts, pool area and playgrounds.

“I’ve lived at Pradera MHC for more than 10 years, and I’m thrilled to see the work that’s been done to improve the overall community,” Marlena Mickelson said in the press release. “I am now truly proud to say that I am a resident of this community.”

Dozens of community members from nearby towns attended the grand opening event to participate in the festivities including Pradera MHC residents, leaders from the Van Alstyne and Howe Chambers of Commerce, Howe Mayor Jeff Stanley, Director of Economic Development for Howe Development Foundation Monte Walker, local police chiefs and others.

“It is wonderful to come together as Chamber leaders in a joint effort to positively promote our communities,” Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce President Barbie Griffin said. “Working with Howe Chamber of Commerce on behalf of Pradera was a welcomed treat. The ribbon cutting event at Pradera was absolutely lovely. Felix Tormos expresses great passion in his role at Pradera; the residents are thrilled with the many improvements and the great concern Mr. Tormos has for his Pradera community.”

Pradera MHC also offers amenities such as a clubhouse with business center, pool, two playgrounds, basketball court, covered mailboxes and more. Havenpark plans additional upgrades as needed on an ongoing basis. Pradera MHC has 218 homes of various sizes within its community. Homes available for rent range from one-bedroom and one-bathroom to four-bedroom and two-bathroom, priced from $700 to $1,000. Homes are also available for purchase.
