Carol “Janice” Griswold, 70, of Sherman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14th after a brief illness. She was with her loving husband of 52 years, Leroy Griswold, and son Glenn Griswold at the time she passed.
Janice was born on January 9, 1953, to Bill and Mary Spencer in Denison, TX. In 1970, she met the love of her life Leroy Griswold, and they wed in 1971, going on to have two children, Victor and Glenn.
When Janice had Victor, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Janice excelled at supporting Victor and Glenn and being there for them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether it was supporting her children through difficulty or through their personal successes, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.
After attending school for nursing, Janice served those in need at Hilltop Haven for many years a job she was always passionate about and cared deeply for.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Mary Spencer, her bother Bobby Spencer and her sister Judy Waw.
She is survived by her sister Billie Gouge of Denison, children Victor of Dallas, Glenn and daughter-in-law Amanda of Sherman, Grandsons Ty and Dylan, her granddaughter Katie Hedges and her husband Klayton Hedges of Weatherford. Janice was blessed with a great-granddaughter, Hallie-Kate Hedges as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
