Buddy Sims was born on August 17, 1943, to Clarence and Frances Sims of Klondike Texas. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother and sister, Margaret Palmer, of Klondike, Texas.
He attended schools in Klondike and Cooper, Texas. After graduating he moved to Dallas where he worked for Ideal Bread Company running a bread route. He eventually moved to Sherman, Tx where he owned and operated two Handy Mart Food stores.
He married his wife Michelle on November 10th, 1984, and they were married for 38 years. He retired the first time from North Central Foods in Dallas. Buddy quickly was bored with retirement and decided to go back to work for 7 years at Sears to keep busy.
During all this time he helped coach his son’s baseball teams and was heavily involved with the 4H and FFA programs. Buddy also raised cattle in his spare time. Buddy loved living in the country and being outdoors. He’d always be outside building fences, mowing, tending to cattle or maintaining his equipment.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Sims, son, Brian Sims, and wife, Leah Sims. Daughter Dara Carter and husband Brian Carter, Stepdaughter Tonya Hill Daugherty. Grandchildren Christopher Douglas, Kylie Pytel and husband Jarod Pytel, Haley Powers, Natalee Daugherty and Braxton Daugherty. Great grandchildren Addisyn and Draco Riley, Carly Powers, Laineey Douglas, and Lily Patel. Sister Martha Clark of Klondike, and too many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews to name. He loved them all.
Buddy never met a stranger and loved to carry on conversations with anyone. He will be missed by all.
