Graveside funeral services for Joseph Raymond Roe will be held at West Hill Cemetery, 1304 W. Lamar Street, Sherman, Texas on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Shane Allen of Crossroads Assembly of God in Taylor, Texas will officiate with military honors conducted by the Ft. Hood Funeral Honor Guard.
Mr. Roe, 75, passed away Sunday, November 6, at his home in McDonough, Georgia.
Joe was born October 27, 1947 in Sherman to the late John and Nannie (Battles) Roe. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for Valor. He retired from the Army after serving 21 years and was a proud veteran. His second career was in the building supply industry.
Joe will be remembered for his love and loyalty to his country and family. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter, Melissa Neace and husband Matt of McDonough, Georgia; sons Shawn Roe and Philip Roe; Granddaughter Kamryn Neace of McDonough, Georgia, Grandson James Matt Neace Jr. of McDonough, Georgia; sister Sherry Arthur of Sherman; three brothers, Jerry Roe of Sherman, Richard Roe of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Mike Roe and wife Pat of Sherman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers: Buddy, Gene, Herbert, Johnny, Glenn, Robert, Ross and Donald.
