Richard Allen Glassco, 81, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at his home in Denison, Texas. According to his wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held on September 17th at Lakeway United Methodist Church in Pottsboro, beginning at 2:00p.m. Pastor Frank Alegria will officiate.
Richard was born on September 4, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his parents, Earl Hulston and Lula Rosalee (Penrod) Glassco.
He married the love of his life in 1959 and enlisted in the Navy to serve 3 years. Richard was a hard worker, sometimes working 3 jobs to support his family. He drafted plans innovating his ideas in the field of sheet metal, including a design called “briefcase boats”. He liked to work with his hands and couldn’t stay in the office when they promoted him to an office job. Richard started as a sheet metal machine operator and ended his career as a sheet metal consultant. He loved his family and friends, loved the American flag, enjoyed dancing, playing pool, collected eagle statues, playing golf and enjoyed looking at flowers and watching birds, and of course he loved fishing. It was a little joke with him and Momma, that if he went to the Lord first, she would call and tell everyone “he had gone fishing”.
He is survived by brother, Bruce and wife Ana; brother, Gary and wife Ann; son, Richard Dean Glassco; daughter, Connie Witt and husband, Tim; and daughter-in-law, Bobby Slate.
