Katherine Gail (Craft) Toles, born in Odessa, Texas on November 23, 1949 to Ellis I. Craft and Peggy Jeffreys Craft, passed away on August 9, 2022 in Durango, Colorado after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was the oldest of two girls born to Ellis and Peggy. Her school years were spent in Odessa, Texas, where she was active in Band and Girl Scouts, and where she met the love of her life Alan Toles.
Kathy’s parents and grandparents instilled in her a love of music at a very young age. She loved singing hymns with her family at gatherings and at church. Kathy and Alan passed their love for music on to their children and grandchildren. The loving impact Kathy had on those around her was felt by all who knew her. She was understanding and supportive of her children, grandchildren, and many friends. Kathy was always ready with a bit of wisdom and a kind word for anyone who needed it. Her grandchildren will always cherish their many “Nana Camps” with her.
Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her favorite role, however, was “Nana” to 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Kathy was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Toles, and her parents.
She will be missed by her family, friends and all that knew her. She is survived by her husband, Alan Toles of Durango, Colorado, daughter, Janna Harris and husband James of Howe, Texas, daughter, Jodi Beck of Trenton, Texas, son, Josh Toles and wife Ashley of Durango, Colorado, her sister, Leslie Clark of Andrews, Texas, grandchildren, Chandra, Sierra, Shelby, Lane, Jillian, Kyleigh, Kyndle, Kynzlee, Slade, Stone and Kimber, great grandchildren Andrew and Olivia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Kathy at 10am, September 24th at River Church in Durango, Colorado, and at 3pm, October 22nd in the Edwards Community Room at First National Bank, Tom Bean, Texas.
