Patsy Proffitt Rowland passed away on September 4, 2022. A graveside service will be held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park on October 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Rev. Joe Ed Goolsby will officiate. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sherman.

Pat was born, November 27, 1934, in Sherman to Ora Lee Kemp and Jim Forrest Proffitt. Her dad was in the grocery business in Sherman for 36 years, Proffitt’s Grocery.

She attended Sherman High School and graduated in 1952. She attended North Texas University. Pat was married to John Rowland in Sherman at Travis Street Methodist Church by Rev. Ed Barcus. Her husband was with Chevron Corp. for 39 years, so she lived in many interesting places and met many great people. She visited many countries. She and her husband returned to Sherman in 1996 to care for her mother.

Over her life she enjoyed being a member of many organizations. She had several hobbies. Writing, gardening and oil painting were some of her favorites.

All her life she felt she had many blessings. It was a miracle to be alive and have happiness.

Pat is survived by her husband, John, two children, Jana Lee and John Forrest and one grandson, John Erich Rowland.
