The family of Betty Jane Fesperman announces with great sorrow her passing on August 10, 2022. Even though there is grieving, there is also great comfort in knowing that Betty is with her Lord and Savior.
Betty was born to Ernest and Ovie Gray on November 9, 1930 in Poteau, Oklahoma. She graduated from Poteau Senior High School and graduated from Southeastern State University with a master’s degree in education.
She married Edward R. Fesperman in 1949 and moved to Sherman, Texas. They had two sons, Edward R. Fesperman Jr. and William E. Fesperman. They were married for 23 years before his passing in June of 1972.
Betty worked as a first-grade teacher at Washington elementary from 1960 until 1992. Her passion was working with children. She was a long-term member of the Key Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son Edward R. Fesperman Jr. and his wife Jeanne and their two sons Edward R. Fesperman III and Darrin Fesperman and wife Ashley. As well as son William E. Fesperman and his wife Debbie and their two children Cory A. Fesperman and Heather L. Nave and her husband Josh. She has two great-grandchildren William R. Fesperman and Abigail E. Fesperman.
Family visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held the next day at 12:00 PM. on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma.
