Sherman Police make sexual assault arrest
The Sherman Police Department launched an investigation on July 19th, 2025, following a sexual assault allegation in the 900 block of E Sycamore St. The victim reported Xavier Somoza as the assailant. Detectives uncovered evidence supporting the victim’s claim. Despite efforts to find Somoza that night, he was not located. The investigation persisted, leading to a sexual assault warrant issued for Somoza. On July 24,2025, Somoza was arrested when located by Sherman Police Department.
GCSO issues statement about exploitation, tampering arrest
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received multiple CyberTip reports from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning suspected child exploitation. The information provided by NCMEC indicated that child pornography was being uploaded to the internet from a residence located in the 5000 block of OB Groner Road in Sherman, Texas.
After an extensive investigation by the Grayson County Criminal Investigations Division, a search warrant for the residence was obtained. In the early morning hours of July 24, 2025, the warrant was served by members of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division, and SRT, along with assistance from the Sherman Police Department SRT Team, Texas Rangers, and Allen Police Department.
During the execution of the warrant evidence was collected and 32-year-old Zachary Keaton of Sherman was taken into custody and charged with the felony offense of Tampering with Physical Evidence.
This investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
