The Easter bunny has been making his rounds in Texoma and will be stopping a several places around the region in the two weeks leading up until the big day. From local parks and rec departments to area businesses, churches and more, here are a list of free events to take place in the upcoming days.
Remember to bring your own basket.
1. Flashlight Egg hunt
Children who may like to enjoy looking for eggs at night, the annual flashlight egg hunt hosted by Sherman Parks and Recreation will be held Friday at Fairview Park in Sherman.
This event for children ages 7-15 is free, but registration is required. Individuals can pre-register or they can register on site. Bring your own flashlight and basket.
The hunt begins at 8:15 Friday, April 11.
“Don’t be late—you might miss the hunt!” information about the event said.
There will be prize eggs.
The hunt is $3 per hunter.

2. Eggstravaganza
Each year, Sherman Parks and Recreation lays out more than 10,000 eggs at Fairview Park its eggstravaganza. The morning of Saturday, April 12, children can participate in this hunt that will be divided by age groups.
There will also be prize egg sand a chance to meet with the Easter Bunny.
The hunt starts at 10 a.m. and latecomers may miss their chance to get eggs.
No registration is required and the event is free for all wishing to attend.
3. special needs egg hunt
A new park in Sherman will be awaiting its first guests Saturday, April 12. Just in time for the opening of the newly renovated Pecan Grove East Park, a special needs egg hunt will take place.
This event will be held at 4:30 p.m. The ribbon cutting for the park will take place at 4 p.m.
This hunt is open for all children with all levels of ability.
The Easter Bunny will be on site for this event hosted by Sherman Parks and Recreation. The cost for the event is free.
“Join us for a celebration of inclusivity and fun!” information about the event reads. “We’re unveiling the newly renovated all-abilities playground at Pecan Grove East Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a special egg hunt designed for kids of all abilities.”
The hunt will take place on both the playground and grassy areas.
4. Eggs in Anna
This weekend, an Easter eggstravaganza will be held at Slayter Park in Anna.
This is more than a free egg hunt, there will be a petting zoo, bounce houses, bubble bus, crafts and more.
There will be egg hunts by age groups and food vendors on site.
Not only will individuals be able to take part in traditional egg hunts, there will also be adaptive egg hunts. Traditional hunts start at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12 and the adaptive hunts start at 10 a.m. Saturday.

5. Denison library
Joyful Noise will be canceled April 17 in order for the Denison Public Library to host its annual egg hunt.
This free hunt is for children ages five years and under. The hunt begins at 10:45 a.m. at 300 W. Gandy Street in Denison.
6. 6th annual easter egg hunt at THF Park
The egg hunt at THF Park in Denison will be held April 17 at the park. These age group egg hunts will begin at 6 p.m.
This event is more than a free egg hunt. There will be a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables and a carnival. Children will also have the opportunity to visit with the Easter Bunny.
This hunt will include more than 25,000 eggs with 100 golden eggs.
Hunts will be separated by groups from those ages 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. There will also be an adaptive hunt. No registration is required.

7. Helicopter drop
Sherman Medical Center and the Sherman Chamber of Commerce will be presenting the “Great Texoma egg drop” on Saturday, April 19 where more than 10,000 eggs will rain on Pecan Grove Park in Sherman.
This helicopter egg drop will take place from 4-6 p.m. with a special needs and under 5 hunt taking place at 4:15 p.m. and a 6 and over hunt taking place at 5:15 p.m.
This event will take place at the Pecan Grove Athletic Complex at 3220 Canyon Creek Drive in Sherman.
Individuals are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot to watch the drop and participate in the hunt.

8. For the shopping lovers
This eggstravaganza event will involve downtown Denison boutiques, candy stores, restaurant and more. Individuals will search for hidden Easter eggs filled with discounts prizes and more.
