Boot Scootin Ball scares up another successful year

What could be scarier than needing emergency help and there not being anyone there to respond with the proper equipment? Preston Volunteer Emergency Services have held a popular fundraiser to years to cut down on that fear for residents living in that area.

Preston Fire’s Boot Scootin Ball was held Saturday at Bar-KR Ranch in Pottsboro. The meal featured barbecue and there was live entertainment and a silent auction.

This year, money raised by the Boot Scootin’ Ball will go to purchase a pumper tanker fire truck for Preston Volunteer Emergency Services.

They had right at 1,000 people there including volunteers and guests. Organizer Jennita Wingate said they were very appreciative of the help they received from the Drake fraternity at Austin College.

“We did raise some money,” Wingate said. She said don’t have the final totals yet, but they did do well.
