As Denison sees continued growth, fire responders are seeing increasing need for funding and staffing in order to meet the demand. Officials for the city spoke about the needs of the police and fire departments late last month during the city's annual budget retreat.
The Texas Department of Transportation is still working on expanding US Highway 75 and the work continues this week to reconstruct the entrance and exit ramps and the bridges at Taylor and Lamberth Streets as well as the US 75 mainlanes over US 82.
When our government overreaches, becomes corrupt, breaks laws and the Constitution, we the people have a right and a duty to publicly assemble and express our grievances. During the NO KINGS rally in Sherman on June 14, our community came together to express concern and give voice to our objections to government abuses.
Next week, members of the Grayson County community will come together for a rally in honor of the late Congressman John Lewis.

Pay increases, facility repairs and other improvements to city parks top the needs and requests for Denison Parks and Recreation officials for the upcoming fiscal year. Parks and Recreation Director Amanda Parsons highlighted the department's needs last week during the city's annual budget retreat.
The friends of Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge have found a way to raise some funds to help geese ahead of this winter's migration. The adopt-a-goose fundraiser is meant to help provide food for the thousands of geese who travel thousands of miles to get to Hagerman each winter as they migrate to warmer conditions.
