Mario Diaz of Sherman and Emma McLemore of Denison were each recently awarded a $30,000 scholarship to attend Austin College by The Sumners Foundation of Irving, Texas. Scholarships are awarded by the Foundation based on civic engagement, academic excellence, a capacity for leadership, and a desire to further our democracy.

This week, the Texas Department of Transportation has provided information about the road projects it plans to work on this week. Along with US Highway 75 expansions, US Highway 82 and FM 1417 work, the department will also be working on SH 289, SH 5 and US 377.
