Austin Lewter, owner of the Whitesboro News-Record and a Tarleton State University Journalism instructor, was recently appointed to serve on the National Newspaper Association Foundation (NNAF) Board of Directors according to a news release.He was nominated to the board by fellow Texan and board president Randy Keck, owner of the Community News in Aledo.“Austin's years of experience both in the industry and the college classroom make him a perfect fit for our board of directors,” said Keck. “His background in journalism education is especially welcome to our mission at the foundation.”The NNAF is a nonprofit trade association that represents America’s community newspapers.

Mother Nature may be about to pitch a cold fit at North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, but that won't likely stop area youngsters from competing in the Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show at Loy Park next week. County commissioners took a few minutes out of their most recent meeting to talk about the show and some successes local students have had outside of Grayson County.

The US Highway 75 expansion project began in 2020, and it reached substantial completion by the end of summer 2024. Still the ancillary projects related to the expansion of the roadway continue.
The Creative Arts Center in Bonham has lots of events and classes planned for the coming weeks. The inaugural Taste of Chocolate gala will be on Feb 22 at the Complex.
