Letter to the editor: Tougher Laws Would Save Lives

In the wake of the 10-year anniversary of Michael Brown’s death, it’s time to confront the elephant in the room and pass laws that might begin to address the violence involved in a growing number of police arrests in America. Currently, both law enforcement and suspects are at risk to be injured or killed when police attempt an arrest or traffic stop. Recently, body-worn cameras were mandated to accurately record interactions between police and suspects. They help to separate fact from fiction and provide more insight into accurately evaluating the actions of all parties involved in a police action.
