Sherman Independent School District will have a new tool for recruiting, retaining and compensating skilled and effective educators. Officials announced this week that SISD has been accepted into the state's Teacher Incentive Allotment program, which offers additional payments in addition to base salary for teachers who earn designations.

This week, Meals on Wheels of Texoma Chief Executive Officer Greg Pittman was honored for the work he has done with the Sherman-based operation. As the 2024 recipient of the Sister Alice Marie Quinn Award, Meals on Wheels wished to recognize Pittman for 16 years of service as the CEO of the nonprofit organization that provides meals to seniors.
