An Oklahoma City woman has been convicted of various federal crimes related to an international drug trafficking conspiracy in the Eastern District of Texas. Debra Lynn Mercer-Erwin, 60, was found guilty by a jury following a two-week trial before U.S.
National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Lake Texoma Chapter 1290 hosted special guest Jim Haun, World War II Marine veteran, at their May 4, 2023 meeting at First United Bank in Sherman. Haun spoke on his war experiences at Chosin Reservoir, North Korea, describing extreme life-threatening freezing conditions and daily challenges. Though the military wore layered heavy clothing, many suffered frostbite and died from the cold, but Haun said that he is grateful to God for saving his life.
