Born October 26, 1925, Lowell was raised on a small farm in Ladonia, Texas. She was the daughter of Lowell Coney and Orianna McDonnold Coney. At age 15, Lowell left high school to marry L. C. Covington (1923-1944). After her husband’s death in 1944, Lowell (an 18-year-old single mother) returned to Ladonia High School and graduated valedictorian of In 1948 she married Paul Henry McCormack (1926-2014). The couple moved to Dallas in 1948 and both worked as accountants. Lowell and Paul were also independent oil producers in Cooke County, In 1992, Lowell earned an Associate from North Central Texas College. She was a Certified Questioned Document Examiner and assisted then-U.S. District Attorney Robert Mueller with three cases involving Lowell was the first female Chief Financial Officer of Dallas Title Company, a post she held for 17 years. Lowell was elected first female President of the Texas Grapho-Analysis Society, first female President of Gainesville Kiwanis Club and President of Gainesville Area Visual Arts Society. She was also a member of the Mensa High IQ Society, a prolific writer and artist, painting in oils, acrylics, watercolor and charcoal and Lowell was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharron Ann Covington McCormack Miller (1944-1989); granddaughter, Susan Miller Denton Hasemeyer in 2012; husband, Paul Henry McCormack in 2014; great granddaughter, Alyssa Ferguson in 2017; sister, Gwen Coney Sheffield in 2018; and brother, Donald Coney in 2019.
