This week is the National Football League Draft, a day that thousands of young men have been anticipating for years. I love to watch as the player hears his name called. The smiles. The hugs. Going to the platform and being congratulated by the commissioner. And then donning the jersey and cap of his new NFL team.

to The annual tribute to one of Denison’s most notorious residents will return to the streets of downtown once again this weekend. The city will transform back to its past as a rail hub and boomtown on the fringe of the frontier when it hosts its annual Doc Holliday: Saints & Sinners Festival this Saturday.

The 2A Region II one act play contest was held at Grayson College on April 19-20. The first day of the contest included rehearsals and the second day was the contests and performances.

1955-2023 Cynthia Ann Hestand, 67, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2023, in Sherman after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
