Hoping to prevent another Apex utility disaster, Sherman approves lien ordinance

Sherman wants to help prevent apartment tenants from losing utilities due to the actions of their landlords, and recently they made a move they feel will help them to do that. The City Council approved a new ordinance that allows the city to impose liens against properties for non-payment of water and utility bills.

NEW YORK (AP) — Riding terrific reviews and a strong word-of-mouth, the role playing game adaptation “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” opened with $38.5 million in U.S. and Canadian movie theaters over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, stealing the top box-office perch from “John Wick: Chapter 4.”

MICHAEL ”MIKE” EDWARD SUTTON

Michael Edward Sutton, living in Sherman, TX passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in his home. Mike was born in Gainesville, TX on May 24, 1951 to Oscar and Lou Sutton. Known to many as “CM” or “Crazy Mike” living life loud and fast. Mike was a US Army Veteran and proud patriot. He enlisted in 1968 at Fort Hood and served two tours in the Vietnam War as a helicopter door gunner. Once stateside, he continued his service at Fort Lewis in Washington State as a Sargent until he was discharged in 1973. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mike met his wife, Elaine, in Austin, TX in 1982 and were married in West Chicago, IL on April 21, 1984. They spent the last 41 years raising their children then later spoiling their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Growing up in Denison where he graduated from Denison High School and Grayson College. He was certified as an auto paint and body repair professional and an industrial mechanic specializing in cold storage.

County considers old Sherman Police station as new home for adult probation

Grayson County leaders are looking at moving the adult probation department that sits directly across the street from the courthouse. Tuesday county commissioners approved giving County Judge Bruce Dawsey the authority to enter into negotiations with the city of Sherman regarding the possibility of moving Adult Probation to the city’s former police department on Travis Street.
