This spring, the Denison Independent School District will be asking for voters’ blessing on a proposed $131.9 million bond for new facilities and expansion of existing campuses. In the lead up to the vote, DISD will be holding a series of town hall meetings to speak to the public about the projects, the need that necessitates them, and the bond funds that will finance them.

David Carl Griffin, 63, of Van Alsytne, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for theft of property and several counts of misapplication of trust funds. Griffin pleaded guilty to the charges in November of 2022 and was sentenced by Judge Jim Fallon of the 15th District Court following a sentencing hearing.
