Future uncertain for $3B project following state’s end of Chapter 313 tax limitations

The future of a proposed multi-billion-dollar production site in Sherman remains uncertain following the end of a state-wide tax limitation program. Sherman Independent School District has not received a response from the state comptroller’s office regarding a chapter 313 tax limitation application that was submitted by Finisar Corp. in December for a $3 billion expansion of its Sherman facilities.
