The holiday season is upon us and how better to celebrate than watching Santa slip several pool balls into a Christmas stocking, swing them in the air menacingly and see him cave in someone’s face? Such is “Violent Night,” a film that clearly no one wanted but somehow nicely acts as a chaser to all the sticky sentimentality this time of year. It is billed as an “alt-Christmas action-comedy” and it may be a litmus test of who is your real tribe: If you think watching Santa try to strangle a guy with Christmas lights is funny, this is the film for you.

Minnie Catherine Ramsey

There is no more pain and suffering for Minnie Catherine Ramsey, who passed away on November 30, 2022 at 10:45 p.m. and was reunited with her husband, Ralph, who passed away on August 21, 2003, and her son, Dennis, who passed away on February 20, 2019.

Robert E. Minchew

Robert E. Minchew slipped into the arms of Jesus peacefully as he slept on November 28, 2022, at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife, Lea, of the home; sons: Lance and wife Michele of Whitesboro and Lane and wife Nichole of Pottsboro, Texas; and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life, in his honor, will be held December 10, 2022 at Georgetown Baptist Church, 207 Georgetown Rd, Pottsboro, Texas at 11:00 A.M. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be given to Toys for Tots, which is sponsored by the Marine Corp League Detachment 929. Gifts may be mailed to Toys for Tots, 2355 FM 406, Denison, Texas 75020. Please make a notation that the gift is in honor of Robert E. Minchew.
