At this time of the year many people stop to reflect on the people and things in their lives for which they are thankful. Often that is family and friends, but it can also be those who are there to help in some of the worst moments of our lives and the life of our community.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Retired Las Vegas correspondent Robert Macy, who wrote thousands of stories about entertainment, crime and sports in Sin City over the course of two decades for The Associated Press, has died. He was 85.
Joe Alvis Walker, of the Ida Community passed away Sunday, November 20 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas.

Stacie Ryan Hollis, 37, of Sherman, Texas, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. This crime does not allow for release on parole and the sentence must be served in its entirety. The defendant will not be released from prison until the year 2057. The sentence results from a plea agreement with the Grayson County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. Judge Larry Phillips of the 59th District Court accepted the plea agreement and formally sentenced the defendant. The defendant must register as a sex offender and the victims were granted a lifetime protective order.
