SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California will be the first state to require online companies to put kids’ safety first by barring them from profiling children or using personal information in ways that could harm children physically or mentally, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Thursday.

Narrow angle glaucoma calls for an immediate laser iridotomy

Dear Dr. Roach: My eye doctor told me I’m in danger of an “acute attack” of narrow angle glaucoma and that I need iridotomy in both eyes right away. He also said this may be related to my headaches. I wanted to get a sense of whether to go ahead with it pretty quickly or to possibly get a second opinion, since this ophthalmologist is new to me. I’m kind of nervous about it, since it seems that only about 65% of folks are “cured,” with others sometimes needing a follow-up surgery later on.

MasterKey earns NTFB award

The North Texas Food Bank recognized top partner agencies at a recent Partner Agency Summit at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. The event was sponsored by UnitedHealthcare, and awards were presented to seven of the more than 400 feeding partners and organizations that work alongside the North Texas Food Bank to distribute food to those facing hunger in the food bank’s 13-county service area.
