Special to the Herald Democrat “Ready, Get Set, Go!” That was something we would say to each other on summer evenings as neighborhood kids would get together and race each other in the front yard or sometimes on our bikes as we would try to outrun each other down the street. We would take turns being the starter, and off we’d go to see who was the fastest.
