Euphorbia marginata: Presenting Snow-on-the-Mountain

Euphorbia marginata is one of our most striking native plants as summer draws to a close. Despite drought or heat, this tough plant stands tall and proud, waving stems full of variegated leaves in white and green (sometimes totally green or white) in the gentle Oklahoma breezes. This member of the spurge family hides its tiny petal-less flowers inside modified white leaves. The baby blossoms form clusters on top of the stems.

Nicaraguan national extradited for drug trafficking violations in Eastern District

A Nicaraguan national has been extradited from Honduras to the United States to face drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas. Raduan Omar Zamora Mayorga, also known as Jose Luis Oliva Meza and “El señor de los cielos” and “patrón de patrones” (in English “the lord of the skies” and “the boss of bosses”), 41, of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 10, 2020, and charged with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute cocaine knowing it would be imported to the United States and manufacturing and distributing cocaine knowing it would be distributed into the United States.

Good Morning: Thankful for the rain

My goodness how good did that rain feel this week? I am still a little disappointed in the amount we goy here on Sherman but we will take what we can get and go on down the road. Dallas, it seems got much more rain than we did and I had the unhappy experience of driving through some of the thickest rain on the highway down there.
