Monte Delano Curry

Monte Delano Curry (88) of Pottsboro, TX, succumbed to cancer and returned to his heavenly home on August 21, 2022. He was born on May 20, 1934 in Dallas, TX. He attended Texas A&M University. He began his career in engineering, but put himself through law school. He practiced law for several years in Nashville, TN. After retirement, he returned to Dallas. Willie Tyrone Berry

Willie Tyrone Berry a husband, father, pawpaw, brother, and uncle died on Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Colbert, Oklahoma. Willie entered the world on January 4, 1966, in Durant, Oklahoma to the parents of Willie Harrold Berry and Connie Jane Taylor. Willie grew up in Colbert, Oklahoma and attended Colbert Public Schools. After graduating from high school in 1984, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He majored in Education and student taught at Colbert High School. Willie went on to work for the United Parcel Service (UPS) several years, before, becoming a Heavy Equipment Operator, working in oil fields and demolition across the nation. When Willie wasn’t working, his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, especially his grandbabies! He enjoyed anything that could go fast, but Corvettes were his favorite. Willie was a kind and daring soul that had a knack for putting a smile on everyone’s face. He will be remembered for his wit and amazing personality. Willie is survived by his wife, Sheila Berry. His children; Trey Jacobs, wife Jaci Jacobs, Tyler Jacobs, Taylor Jacobs, Monica Dollar, and Melanie Knight. Grandchildren; Anthony Smith (Jr), A’Rylan Smith, Avalyn Jacobs, Melina Jacobs, Karter Jacobs, Mia Coker, Ellie Andersen, Tyson Pope, MaKayla Nail and Cameron Nail. Sister, Ronda Berry Hayden and husband Eric Hayden, and brother, Michael Berry. Nieces; Destiney Berry, Erica Hayden, and Darian Bradford. Great niece; Nevaeh Berry-Marroquin. Family and friends visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, 6 - 8 p.m. at American Funeral Service, 107 Burney, Colbert, OK. His body will lie in state at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until after visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, Colbert, OK with Pastor Michael Braxton officiating. Interment will be at Colbert East Cemetery.

March 7, 1939 to August 23, 2022 Melba Ballou was first and foremost a Christian who loved the Lord. She was known by her friends and loved ones as “a prayer warrior” and was a long-time active member of Park Avenue Church of Christ, in Denison, Texas where she loved attending Ladies’ Bible class and the annual Lady’s Retreat which she always said was the highlight of her year.

As more hopeful news emerges on the Boom Supersonic front, some skeptics still wonder whether the upstart passenger aircraft manufacturer is talking faster than it ever will fly. American Airlines has put in an order for 20 of the company’s Overture passenger aircraft and made a nonrefundable deposit toward the purchase, though no specific numbers were disclosed, The Associated Press reports.
