Meetings can include range of topics
One of the reasons that I love being the person who covers Grayson County commissioners is the fact that there is literally no telling what the group is going to talk about on any given Tuesday. You can count on hearing about road work and tax rates, but the group also gives a fair amount of education on topics ranging from horsemanship to football and movies.

Stewart receives Mark Twain Prize for American humor A host of celebrities and comedy royalty gathered Sunday night at the Kennedy Center as comedian, talk show host and political influencer Jon Stewart received the Mark Twain Prize for lifetime achievement in humor. Stewart, 59, the 23rd recipient of the prize, was honored by testimonials and skits from fellow comedians and previous Mark Twain recipients.

Denison and Bells clinch playoff spots
Owen Ewton threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks as Denison earned its sixth straight victory and clinched a playoff spot for the fourth time in five seasons with a 3-2 victory against Prosper Rock Hill in District 10-5A action at Denison High School.
