Wolfe City will have a new head coach after Travis Smith was reassigned by the school district.

M.K. Hamilton, who is in his first season as an assistant with the Wolves, will serve as the interim head coach. Hamilton was the head coach at New Waverly last season and has also been the head coach at North Dallas.

Smith went 15-17 in three seasons at Wolfe City, including an area round appearance and 6-6 mark last season. The Wolves went 5-6 this past season, finished third in District 8-A (I) and lost to Collinsville, 44-22, in a Class 1A Division I Region II bi-district game last Thursday night.

Wolfe City has not had a winning record since an 11-1 mark and region final appearance in 2006.
