WYLIE — Janette McCallister’s three-run home run in the top of the first inning gave Sherman the early lead but Wylie East rallied for an 8-7, walk-off victory against the Lady Bearcats in District 13-4A action on Tuesday night.

Sherman led 5-0 after two innings before Wylie East rallied with six runs in the final three frames, including the game-winning run on a passed ball.


McCalister finished 2-for-4 while Miranda Lleverino, Olivia Fair, Taylor Bailiff and Kaylee Walker each went 1-for-3.


Sherman (5-12, 0-3) will try for its first league victory again at 7 p.m. tonight at Royse City.


District 11-2A Howe 6, Whitesboro 5


HOWE — Emily Sanders drove in two runs as Howe edged Whitesboro as the deciding run scored with two outs in the bottom of the seventh in district action on Tuesday afternoon.


Peyton Tinney and Madison Hargrove each had a pair of hits for Howe, which led 4-2 after two before tying the game at five in the bottom of the fourth. The Lady Bulldogs host S&S today and the winner will move into a three-way tie for first place with Whitesboro and Whitewright.


Kacie Jones was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI while Alexus Vanlandingham scored three runs and stole two bases and Katie Dean had two hits and drove in a run to go with seven strikeouts and only two earned runs allowed for Whitesboro (13-3, 4-1).


S&S 15, Pottsboro 0


POTTSBORO — Jessika Dyke had three hits, including a pair of doubles, drove in two runs and scored three times as S&S defeated Pottsboro in district action on Tuesday afternoon.


Riley Stogner chipped in three hits, including two doubles, and had three RBI, Tannah Medrano scored three times, Meagan Cowden doubled twice, Shara Chumley scored two runs and Paige Porter and Shelby Bennett each struck out five for S&S, which plays at Howe today in a make-up game from Saturday with the winner moving into a three-way tie for first place.


Whitewright 14, Tom Bean 1 (5)


WHITEWRIGHT — Anna Shope homered and drove in three runs as Whitewright run-ruled Tom Bean in district action on Tuesday morning.


Tori Perkins allowed three hits and one walk while striking out eight, Sydney Brummett was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs, Jaidyn Melichar was 2-for-2 and scored three times and Tucker Caraway scored three times and walked twice for Whitewright (17-2, 4-1).


Annie Bailey had her fifth home run of the season and Alex Hendry doubled for Tom Bean (11-6, 2-3).
