Wylie had just tied the game at five in the top of the inning before Hunt’s blow. Bailey Nixon had a two-run double and Cassidy McDaris was 3-for-4 with two RBI for Denison (11-3-1, 4-1), which is tied with Wylie and Lovejoy for first.


The Lady Jackets play at Greenville on Friday night.


District 12-3A Princeton 9, Bonham 3


PRINCETON — Ashton Sutton had three hits and scored twice during Bonham’s loss at Princeton to start district play.


Sydney Sewell had two RBI for Bonham (14-8, 0-1), while Kenzie Rattan singled and scored.


Cheyenne Wicker, Audrey Richardson and Maggie Hunt each singled for Bonham, which hosts Anna on Friday to continue district play.


District 12-2A Van Alstyne 16, Leonard 1 (4)


VAN ALSTYNE — The Lady Panthers scored all of their runs in the fourth inning of a run-rule victory over Leonard in district play on Tuesday.


Maddie Horn led Van Alstyne (21-4, 4-1) at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs batted in. Lauren Gibson, Reagan Reece and Bailey Brown each went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Lady Panthers, while Ashley Burts went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI.


Van Alstyne has a bye Friday before it takes on Pilot Point at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday while Leonard will play at 5 p.m. Friday at Caddo Mills.


Pilot Point 16, Gunter 0 (3)


GUNTER — Allison Strittmatter hit two home runs to help Pilot Point run-rule Gunter in district action on Tuesday.


Strittmatter scored twice and drove in five runs, Preslee Gallaway was 3-for-4 with three RBI and Natalie Larson was 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI for Pilot Point, which moved to 4-0 in district play.


Yessica Ovalle, Megan Bullard and Madison Elvington each went 1-for-2 for Gunter (5-12, 0-4), which hosts Sunnyvale at 5 p.m. on Friday.


District 11-2A


Whitewright 6, Whitesboro 1


WHITESBORO — Sydney Brummett’s grand slam helped Whitewright defeat Whitesboro in a match-up of first-place teams on Tuesday night.


Tori Perkins struck out 13 and allowed just a pair of hits, CJ Crane tripled and Jaidyn Melichar doubled for Whitewright (18-2, 5-1), which will host Callisburg on Friday.


Tom Bean 3, S&S 1


TOM BEAN — Annie Bailey struck out 11 batters and walked three as Tom Bean defeated S&S in district action on Tuesday.


Caroline Henderson scored on a Ramie Byers bunt in the fourth and an Alex Henry single in the sixth for Tom Bean (12-6, 3-3), which plays at Pottsboro on Friday.


Paige Porter recorded 10 strikeouts and walked two while Jessika Dyke singled in Brittany Butler for the Lady Rams’ lone run.


District 14-A


Sam Rayburn 14, Honey Grove 7


HONEY GROVE — Brittnie Whirley had four hits, three RBI and three stolen bases and pitched six relief innings for the win as Sam Rayburn defeated Honey Grove in a district opener.


Abbie Dow hit a three-run home run with four walks, Carly Park had four hits, Ashli Montgomery collected three hits, Keely Spence added two hits and Destiny Ray doubled in a run for Sam Rayburn (8-7, 1-0).


Kailee Frost had four hits, two RBI and two runs, Kourtney Pevey doubled to go 3-for-4 with three RBI and Caiti Warren also scored twice, had a hit and drove in one for Honey Grove (4-9, 0-1), which plays Friday at Savoy in district play.


Trenton 8, Dodd City 4


TRENTON — Kellie Connelly was 3-for-4, including a triple, with two RBI and two runs as Trenton opened district with a victory against Dodd City on Tuesday night.


Jordan Withrow was 3-for-4, drove in a run and struck out 11 to get the victory and Chaley Murphy drove in a run for Trenton, which plays at Sam Rayburn on Friday.


District 15-A


Bland 10, Wolfe City 9


WOLFE CITY — Bland was able to hang on for a district-opening victory against Wolfe City on Tuesday.


Madison Humphries was 2-for-2 with three runs and one run batted in, Savannah Richardson went 2-for-3, scored once and drove in a run and Taylor Woodruff went 1-for-4 with three RBI for Wolfe City, which travels to Celeste for a 4:30 p.m. contest on Friday.
