PROSPER — The Sherman boys soccer team closed out District 17-4A action with a 5-0 loss against Prosper on Tuesday night.

Sherman (5-12-2, 2-5-1), which was already locked into the fourth seed for the playoffs, will face Frisco Liberty on Monday night in a Class 4A Region II bi-district match.

Dalton Hill scored twice for Prosper, which finished 8-0 en route to the district championship.

Denison teams set playoff sites

The Yellow Jackets were scheduled to play a non-district contest at Dallas Adamson on Tuesday but did not because of poor field conditions.

Denison (11-6-2, 4-3-1) will now go 17 days between its last match, a 6-0 victory over Anna on March 7, and its Class 4A Region II bi-district contest against Frisco Wakeland at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.

The Lady Yellow Jackets, meanwhile, will mark their first playoff appearance since 2008 with a Class 4A Region II bi-district match next week.

Denison (7-11-3, 2-5-1), which finished fourth in the 17-4A standings, will play Frisco in the opening round with a tentatively-scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Sherman’s Bearcat Stadium.

Instead of having nearly three weeks off between matches, Denison will play Sherman at Bearcat Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday after both schools were unable to find opponents.
