Grayson College’s softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader over Kilgore College on Wednesday in their home debut at Lady Vikings Field, winning 8-4 and 9-1.

Grayson College’s softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader over Kilgore College on Wednesday in their home debut at Lady Vikings Field, winning 8-4 and 9-1.


In the opener, Kiersten Gundersen was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI and Chelsey Trejo was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Pitcher Jordan Gundersen allowed four hits in going all seven for the win.


Nina Castillo finished 2-for-2 with three RBI to pace the Lady Vikings to a five-inning run-rule win in the nightcap. Courtnee Jones pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts, and also had a two-RBI double. Catcher Kelsie Finch added a double.


The Lady Vikings (4-6) travel to Kilgore for a four-game classic Friday and Saturday and open North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play next Wednesday with a doubleheader at Ranger College.
