CELINA — Celina senior Sarah Cantu is among 97 basketball players from Texas who have been nominated to play in the 2014 McDonald’s High School All American Games.


Cantu signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the U.S. Air Force Academy in November.


Cantu helped lead the Lady Bobcats to the 2012 Class 3A girls’ state championship game and a runner-up finish. She was named Offensive Player of the Year in District 10-3A last season. This year, the Lady Cats are ranked No. 3 in the state with a 19-4 record.


The top 48 players in the nation will be chosen from among the nominees to play in the McDonald’s All American Games on April 2 at the United Center in Chicago. The final teams will be announced on Jan. 29 on ESPNU.
