WYLIE — Will Olson doubled for one of three Sherman hits during a 16-1 loss in five innings against Wylie East in District 13-4A action on Friday night.


Sherman got its lone run in the second and trailed 9-1 after two innings of play. The Bearcats (12-9, 1-2) travel to Royse City on Tuesday night.


Bryar Barnes homered and earned the win for Wylie East (14-3, 3-0), which moved into sole possession of first place with the victory.


District 12-2A Leonard 4, Sunnyvale 3


LEONARD — Dylan Monk had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run as Leonard held off Sunnyvale in district action on Friday night.


Ryan Nixon scored three times while Mason Sargent earned the victory and Laine Albert earned the save for Leonard (12-3, 3-0), which plays at Van Alstyne at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.


Gunter 10, Caddo Mills 4


CADDO MILLS — Anthony Vulpitta and Troy Carrigan each doubled and drove in a run as Gunter defeated Caddo Mills in district action on Friday night.


Dakota Hunter and Nate Yansky also doubled while Reagan MacDonald struck out nine to earn the victory for Gunter (14-8, 2-0), which hosts Pilot Point at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.


Non-district Blue Ridge 16, Valley View 11


VALLEY VIEW — Tracer Lynch led the way with three RBI on the day as Blue Ridge (9-2) outslugged Valley View on Saturday afternoon.


Austin Sikes was 4-for-5 and Dalton Eaves and Lynch were 3-for-4 for Blue Ridge, which answered an eight-run second inning by Valley View with an eight-run fifth inning of its own.


Eaves, Sikes and Lane McKinney each finished with two RBI for the Tigers, who host Dodd City in 16-A action on Tuesday night.


Wolfe City 13, N. Hopkins 3 (6)


BIRTHRIGHT — Brandon Fisk was 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs as Wolfe City run-ruled North Hopkins in non-district action on Saturday.


Ty Malone and Trinten Turney each had two hits, two runs and two RBI while Justin Wilkinson drove in three runs and Dawson Caldwell doubled and earned the victory for Wolfe City (6-4).
