In the top of the fifth, David Bedgood hit a hard grounder to second for an infield hit, and advanced on a passed ball. Olson followed with a double to straightaway center to score Bedgood with the game’s only run. Drew Rome had the only other hit for the Bearcats.


Rolen threw 136 pitches and struck out 10 while walking six. Rolen issued a pair of walks in the bottom of the seventh, but struck out Royse City’s Carlos Carrillo looking to end the game.


Sherman (13-9, 2-2) will host Lovejoy Friday night at Veterans Field in another key District 13-4A match-up.


District 9-3A Decatur 5, Gainesville 4


DECATUR — Nick Trachta hit a walk-off home run to hand Gainesville a loss in the district opener for both teams on Tuesday.


Dillon Aston went 3-for-3 and scored twice for Gainesville while Landon Bond was 3-for-4 and drove in two runs and Garrett Cooper was 2-for-4 and scored once for Gainesville, which hosts Sanger at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.


District 11-2A


Tom Bean 7, S&S 6


TOM BEAN — Payton Jones’ RBI single in the bottom of the seventh lifted Tom Bean to a district victory against S&S on Tuesday night.


After S&S rallied from a 5-1 deficit in the first inning, the Tomcats pulled out the win after Logan LeDane reached on an infield single, then stole second and third to score on Jones’ hit.


Brennon Montgomery went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for Tom Bean (4-10, 1-3), which travels to Pottsboro on Friday.


Reed Collum, Dustin Gann, Casey Welch and Jordan Bounds all doubled for S&S (9-6, 2-2).


Pottsboro 10, Bells 0 (5)


POTTSBORO — Landon Stevens allowed just one hit and no walks to go with nine strikeouts as Pottsboro run-ruled Bells in district action on Tuesday night.


Max Dodd went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI and Ryan Johnson doubled for the Cardinals (8-5, 4-0).


Whitesboro 12, Whitewright 4


WHITESBORO — Hayden Nikirk was 2-for-3 with three runs and two runs batted as Whitesboro defeated Whitewright in district action on Tuesday night.


Thomas Morales went 2-for-3, scored once and drove in three runs while Channing Hickman and Dale Bailey each went 2-for-3 as the Bearcats scored four runs in each of the first two innings.


Burke Hosier finished 2-for-4 and scored once while Drake Bearden and Braden Ritchie each went 1-for-3 with two RBI for Whitewright (4-11, 1-3), which hosts Callisburg on Friday.

Van Alstyne 6, Leonard 4


VAN ALSTYNE — The Panthers scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to earn a district victory against first-place Leonard on Tuesday.


Trey Burden and Alex Phillips each went 2-for-3 at the plate for Van Alstyne, while Kearon Redmon finished 1-for-3 and scored twice for Van Alstyne (7-6-1, 3-1), which moved into a second-place tie with the Tigers.


Laine Albert went 2-for-3 with one RBI and Walker Copeland finished 1-for-3, scored once and drove in two runs for Leonard (12-4, 3-1), which plays at Caddo Mills on Friday.


Gunter 10, Pilot Point 0 (5)


GUNTER — Anthony Knight pitched five strong innings as Gunter run-ruled Pilot Point in district action on Tuesday night.


Knight yielded just two hits and no walks while striking out seven, Rhett Taylor went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBI and two runs scored and Garrett Hunter doubles for Gunter (14-8, 3-0), which hosts Sunnyvale on Friday night.

Dodd City 11, Blue Ridge 7


BLUE RIDGE — Kaleb Hammett went 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI as Dodd City defeated Blue Ridge in district action on Tuesday.


Zane Dockery and Dalton Underwood each went 2-for-4 and scored once for Dodd City, which hosts Sam Rayburn on Friday.


Jason Price went 2-for-4, scored once and drove in three runs while Thomas Weatherford was 2-for-5 with two RBI and Dalton Eaves was 1-for-3 and scored twice for Blue Ridge (9-3, 2-1), which plays at Trenton on Friday.


Trenton 19, Wolfe City 6 (5)


WOLFE CITY — Kever and Kyle Wylie each went 3-for-4 as Trenton run-ruled Wolfe City in a battle of district unbeatens on Tuesday night.


Bailey Burks homered, Garrett Puyear also went deep and earned the victory while Cody Lambright, Ben Mentor, Lane Henderson and Billiy Pilkinton doubled for Trenton (13-2, 2-0), which hosts Blue Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.


Malik Gaffney doubled and Justin Wilkinson tripled for Wolfe City.


Celeste 10, Sam Rayburn 5


CELESTE — Tim Herman was 3-for-4 with two runs and three steals as Celeste defeated Sam Rayburn in district action on Tuesday.


Cody Evans chipped in two hits and two runs while Colton Smith had two RBI for Celeste (9-7, 1-2), which hosts Bland on Friday.


Taylor Dollgener was 3-for-4 with one run and an RBI, Trevor Crane went 2-for-3 and scored once while Kelvin Cockrill finished 1-for-3 for Sam Rayburn (8-6, 1-2), which plays at Dodd City on Friday.
