DURANT — Southeastern’s Laramie Beal has been named the Great American Conference Co-Player of the Week following her performance in the Savage Storm’s season-opening trip to San Antonio.

Beal, a sophomore from Coalgate, Okla., opened her season by hitting .462 at the St. Mary’s NCAA Division II College Classic. It is the second time in her career she has earned the conference weekly honor, with the last coming on April 23.

She collected a pair of doubles over the five-game event, drove in five runs and notched multi-hit games in wins against Texas A&M-International and St. Edward’s.

Southeastern (3-2) had its tournament cancelled this weekend and returns to action Feb. 22 when it opens GAC play with a 1 p.m. double-header at Ouachita Baptist.
