WYLIE — Brandt Krasovic netted a hat trick during a nine-minute span during the second half as the Denison Yellow Jackets defeated Wylie, 3-1, in non-district action on Tuesday night.


After a scoreless first half, Krasovic scored his first goal in the 55th minute off an assist by Tate Perkins and a minute later had another goal.


Wylie cut the deficit in half in the 60th minute but Krasovic got his eighth goal of the season from Orlando Macedo to provide a cushion.


Michael Moran made four saves for Denison (3-0), which will open the Birdville Tournament against Fort Worth Brewer at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.


Paris 2, Sherman 1


PARIS — Manny Guiterrez had the tying goal for Sherman but Paris scored in the second half for a non-district victory over the Bearcats on Tuesday night.


Gutierrez pulled Sherman even with 30 minutes remaining in the first half and Joseph Khalaf made 15 saves for the Bearcats (4-2-1), who will face Highland Park on Friday to open the Little Elm Tournament.


Girls Non-district


Denison 1, Greenville 0, SO


The Lady Jackets converted on all of their penalty kicks, capped by Zoie Voight’s effort to clinch a 1-0 shootout victory against Greenville in a non-district match on Tuesday night.


Miranda Poe, Angel O’Brien, Harley Goodin and Kaitlyn Bradshaw all scored ahead of Voight and Erin Armstrong deflected Greenville’s second attempt for the 5-4 advantage in the shootout.


Armstrong and Ashley Wood combined to make 10 saves in regulation for Denison (3-2-1), which has already surpassed last season’s win total going into a match against Gainesville at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Gainesville Tournament.


Gainesville 5, Sherman 0


The Lady Bearcats had several opportunities early in the second half but were unable to score in a non-district match against Gainesville at Bearcat Stadium on Tuesday night.


Sherman (3-5-1) will play against Argyle at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday to open the Gainesville Tournament.
