Frisco Heritage 4, Sherman 0

FRISCO — Sherman’s boys soccer team took a scoreless tie into the second half, but couldn’t stem the tide as Frisco Heritage came away with a non-district win on Tuesday night.

The Bearcats (1-1) played a strong defensive game, but gave up Heritage’s first goal two minutes into the second half, and Heritage scored again with 24 minutes left on a well-placed 25-yard shot.

"We played them pretty well in the first half," Sherman head coach Chico Aleman said. "I thought we also played well in the second half, (but) we just made a couple of mistakes."

Goalkeeper Joseph Khalaf had to leave the game because of a bleeding cut on his head in the second half and was replaced by midfielder Travis Cole.

The Bearcats will face Beaumont West Brook in the Georgetown tournament on Thursday before playing Georgetown on Friday and Corpus Christi Calallen on Saturday.
