DURANT — Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Emily Williams has been named the Great American Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after back-to-back 20-point performances.

DURANT — Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Emily Williams has been named the Great American Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after back-to-back 20-point performances.


In games against Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State, Williams averaged 27.5 points on 64.3 percent shooting, including seven-of-10 three-pointers and adding a 12-of-15 mark at the free throw line.


Additionally she averaged 6.0 rebounds per game, while adding three assists and a steal over two games.


In all, Williams has crossed the 20-point mark six times on the year, joining just eight players across the league to have that many outings. She has also climbed into the league’s top-10 in scoring over the last two weeks, lifting her scoring average to 14.6 points per game.


Southeastern will be back on action on Thursday when it hosts Arkansas-Monticello at 5:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
