PARIS — Jean Ramirez batted 3-for-5 with two RBI to cap a strong weekend as Grayson College won Saturday’s nightcap against Paris Junior College, 10-6, to salvage the finale of a three-game season-opening home-and-home series.

PARIS — Jean Ramirez batted 3-for-5 with two RBI to cap a strong weekend as Grayson College won Saturday’s nightcap against Paris Junior College, 10-6, to salvage the finale of a three-game season-opening home-and-home series.


Taylor Becerra was 2-for-4 with four RBI and Grayson Huffman got the win on the mound for the Vikings, going six innings.


Ramirez was 3-for-3 and Zach Reding was 2-for-4 in Saturday’s first game, which was tied 9-9 going into the bottom of the ninth before Paris won it on a walkoff hit.


On Friday at Dub Hayes Field, the Vikings fell to Paris, 9-7, to open the season. Ramirez, Matt McLean and Willie Schwanke each had two hits for the Vikings.


The Vikings (1-2) will travel to Houston on Thursday for a weekend tournament at San Jacinto College.
