Blaine Tew took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and allowed just one run on three hits to help the Austin College baseball team win 5-1 in the second half of Saturday’s doubleheader split with Schreiner.


Tew finished the game throwing 81/3 innings and striking out six batters. The ‘Roos (1-2) were held to five hits, with Will Schommer going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI, while Hunter Wilson was 1-for-4 with two RBI.


The ‘Roos fell 4-2 in the opener and were limited to five hits, with Jared Jenkins going 2-for-3. Marcos Molina homered for the ‘Roos.


Austin College hosts East Texas Baptist on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Baker Field.
