DURANT — Southeastern used late-inning runs to pick up a 3-0 win over Southern Arkansas in Game 1, but three Mulerider home runs led to a 9-6 loss for the Savage Storm in the final game of the series on Saturday afternoon.

The split means a 2-2 split in the series for SOSU (23-10, 16-6 GAC).

Storm starter Mindy McElroy tossed her third complete-game shutout of the season while scattering five hits and striking out one in the opener.

The nightcap was the complete opposite, however, as SAU used a five-run second inning, bolstered by a grand slam by Shelby Miller, to open up a 6-2 lead.
