DURANT — Southeastern baseball was picked to finish eighth in the Great American Conference according to the league’s preseason poll released on Tuesday.

Southeastern is coming off a 23-20 season with a 15-15 record in conference play that saw the team miss the postseason for the first time since 2002, not counting the 2005 season in which no conference tournament was held.

Southeastern returns five position starters from last season, including first team all-conference performers Evan Ramsey and Chevis Springer.

Ramsey was the team’s leading hitter with a .356 average and 35 RBI which also earned him all-region recognition. He was also a pre-season All-American by Collegiate Baseball.

The Storm return just one pitcher from last year’s squad in Canyon Conley.
