MAGNOLIA, Ark. — After a two-week break from conference play, Southeastern nearly knocked off league-leading No. 4 Southern Arkansas, but dropped the series opener on Saturday, 2-1.


Chevis Springer turned in SOSU’s (14-15, 6-10 GAC) lone multi-hit outing, finishing 2-for-4 with a stolen base. A pinch-hitting Collin Sefcik drove in the team’s run.


The final two games of the three-game series will begin at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
