ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Southeastern piled up 23 hits over two games, but was only able to pick up a split on Sunday afternoon, dropping Game 1 to Ouachita Baptist 10-9 before winning the finale 3-2 in Great American Conference play.


In the series finale, Jessica Simmons, Sydney Kramer, Laramie Beal and Arianna Jones each posted two hits for SOSU (7-6, 2-2). Mindy McElroy picked up her fourth win of the year after tossing 6 2/3 innings and allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits.


In the day’s opener, the teams combined for 25 hits and 19 runs. Kramer and Simmons each turned in three hits in the contest, while Beal, Haley Strawn and Rachel Jones chipped in two each. Arianna Jones led the way with four RBI, while Kramer was right behind with three.
